Hello! My name is Meta Lobben (she/her) and I am an actor, singer, and theatre educator currently based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
I recently graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre with a minor in English from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. At Drake I was trained as a performer, technician, and stage manager, and I worked as a Teaching Artist at the Des Moines Playhouse. I also gained experience in event planning, arts administration, playwriting, and leadership. My time in Iowa turned me from an actor to a multifaceted theatre artist, and I'm thrilled to be taking these skills into the Minneapolis/Saint Paul theatre scene.
I am a born-and-raised Minnesotan. I made my community theatre debut in 4th grade, and have been in and around the theatre scene ever since. MN theatre highlights include several seasons with Eagan Summer Theatre, working in several areas at Children's Theatre Company, and of course, playing a Poor Unfortunate Soul in a community theatre production of The Little Mermaid JR in 4th grade.
I am thrilled to be back living in Minnesota full time. I currently make my living working with young actors at Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis as a teaching artist and student actor supervisor.
When I am not at the theatre, you can usually find me with a good book and a fancy cup of coffee, crocheting a blanket, or taking free online literature classes.
